Periodical
report delivered by the 62nd Fuselier Battalion to the 22nd Fuselier Brigade. |
Due to the
fact that the Allied Authorities had no tasks anymore for new
fuselier battalions,
the unit is already put back at the disposal of the Belgian
Authorities mid October 1945.
The 62nd Fuselier Battalion is disbanded at Saives on October 21 1945.

FORMATION BADGE
The 62nd
Fuselier Battalion normally had to wear the formation badge
of
the 22nd Fuselier Brigade "RAPENBURG".
As far as
known the formation badge of the 22nd Fuselier Brigade "RAPENBURG"
was produced but never distributed.
Therefore one
can assume that, combined with the fact of the short period of
existence,
the 62nd Fuselier Battalion wore no formation badge.
OTHER INSIGNIA
Belgian Rank Insignia were worn.
On the shoulder straps the crossed rifles, for the Fuseliers, were worn above the number "62".
The Infantry flash was worn on both sleeves.
On the left sleeve the white "BELGIUM" title was worn.
On the right sleeve the Belgian National Colours were worn.
