THE 35TH FUSELIER BATTALION
1945 - 1946
SHORT STORY
The 35th Fuselier Battalion is raised at Péruwelz, Belgium, on April 20 1945.
On August 8 1945 the battalion is attached to the 17th Fuselier Brigade.
The battalion mainly delivers guard detachments for several P.O.W. camps in Belgium.
The 35th Fuselier Battalion is disbanded on March 31 1946.

FORMATION BADGE
A black
"Perron" of Liège with 2 crossed black rifles,
flanked by 2 oak leafs and 4 yellow acorns, and the figure "35"
above.
The whole on a scalet shield with yellow border.
The insertion
of the historical monument "Perron" of Liège, and the
oak leafs and acorns,
represents the origin
of most of the warvolunteers : the city of Liège and the city of
Verviers.

OTHER INSIGNIA
Belgian Rank Insignia were worn.
On the shoulder straps the Belgian Crown, for the Infantry, was worn above the number "17".
The Infantry flash was worn on both sleeves.
On the left sleeve the white "BELGIUM" title was worn.
On the right sleeve the Belgian National Colours were worn.
